CFES Congress

Hello Engineers!

The Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (‘CFES’) is hosting this years Engineering Congress in Sherbrook, QC from the 5th – 11th of January 2014. Congress is a conference put on by students for students and is a chance for engineering undergrads from all over the country to meet and discuss professional development and leadership within their own undergraduate societies. As you all are a part of UVic’s Engineering Society, you qualify for funding to attend this conference.

Workshops that are held during the week include effective budgeting, event planning, media relations and risk management. There will be a career fair in which you will be given a chance to network with industry representatives from across the country. Member schools can also help create policy changes which affect student societies across the country, in topics such as the Canadian Engineering Competition, the Presidents meeting, and NCWiE (National Conference for Women in Engineering). In addition, a Student from UVic will be offering a 3-day Leadership Development program, which will be a look at skills such as goal-setting, professional networking, and effective communication skills.

Selection for this conference is competitive and we will be accepting applications until the 15th of November.
