Don’t forget to vote for UVSS Events Funding

Hey everyone!

The UVSS would like to gather opinion on charging an extra 2$ a semester to increase their events budget. Your full time student contribution to the UVSS budget is currently $63.71 per semester. If you want to find out how this is calculated you can go here. The current budget for events is approximately $15,000 according to the pamphlets that are being handed out. If you check the student fee breakdown it doesn’t mention where that comes from. The final piece of information I’d like to leave you with is the executive salary information for the UVSS. Referencing the 2014 budget information under the finances section of the UVSS website, The executive makes a total of 146,000 per year, up from 105,000 from 2006.

Movember UVic Engineering Team

Hey guys, it’s a little late but just remember, it’s never too late to save some prostates.

Movember takes place during the month of November where men (Mo Bros) start at the beginning of the month clean-shaven and for the next 30 days grow and groom a mustache to raise awareness and funds to combat both prostate and testicular cancer.  Women (Mo Sistas) can also be involved in movember by raising funds and getting men in their lives involved in with movember.

This year the UVIC Engineering Students Society is leading a team of Mo Bros known as the Movengrs in order to raise awareness and funds for men’s health.  Each Mo Bro and Mo Sista registered with the Movengrs will try to raise as much money as they can before then end of the month.  Whoever raises the most on the team will walk away with some sweet ESS schwag.  Join the fight by registering on www.movember.com under “movengrs”.  Once registered, join the official UVIC engineering team (Movengrs) in a chance to win some sweet schwag and save some prostates! If you have any questions or concerns or just want to talk about prostates, contact Chad Perreault at 778-679-3758.…
