What Summer 2017 ESS Brings You!

This semester, your ESS executive is planning many events for your enjoyment, learning, and exercise. Classics such as the EEE will be continuing on in full force to provide you with cold refreshments and a break from the grind. Formal Night, a fan favorite, will also be returning. Those that went last semester should get ready for bigger stakes and more prizes! In addition, new events such as Felebrate, Movie-On-The-Sea, and Neon Jump are being planned to add some excitement to your summer!

Check the ESS events calendar in the ELW lobby, the official ESS Facebook group, or our website UVic ESS for a full list of events and dates.…

ESS Bug Push for United Way

UPDATE: DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO NOVEMBER 20TH

What: UVic Engineering Students’ Society Bug Push for United Way Charity Event
When: 6am – 6pm, Sunday, November 20th.
Where: Ring Road (Tent set up in front of the Student Union Building)

Bug Push is the charity event that the UVic Engineering Students’ Society hosts in partnership with the UVic United Way campaign. Teams of UVic students, faculty, staff, and corporate teams from across Victoria test their stamina, have fun, and raise funds while manually pushing a hollowed-out 1972 VW Beetle around UVic’s 2.2-km Ring Road. Each team pushes for a half-hour shift, with the goal of keeping the bug rolling for 12 hours straight. This year we have given the “Bug” a fresh zebra-inspired paint job!

Lunch will be provided for participants.

Follow this link to register your team and help us keep the bug moving for 12 hours straight!

You will need 3-5 people to push the bug: at least two to push and one to drive. Minimum $20 donation per team, and teams are encouraged to fund-raise on their own. All proceeds go to United Way. A fundraising pledge form can be found here.
