Candidates for President

Now that nominations for the position of President have closed, here are the two candidates for President! Campaigns will happen from 11PM March 11th until 11PM March 15th and voting will happen at webvote.engr.uvic.ca (it sometimes requires you to sign in twice) from 11PM on March 13th until 11PM on March 15th.

Candidates’ Debate: On Wednesday, March 13th, at 5:30 PM the Candidates will be in ECS 116 for a Candidates’ Debate. Pop by to ask the Candidates some questions, and eat some free pizza!

ESS General Elections – Spring 2019

Hello everyone!

It is time for the first online election for the Engineering Students’ Society! We’ve recently passed a new constitution that merges our two societies, and will hopefully allow us to serve the students better! For details on how this election will work, check out the election policy below.

The election will have two parts, the first will be the election for President followed by an election for the remaining positions. Check out this description of each of the positions! To nominate yourself, please download and fill out this Nomination Form and submit to ericpower@outlook.com during the relevant nomination period!

Timeline for Presidential Election:

Nomination Period: From 11 PM on Wednesday, March 6th until 11 PM on Sunday March 10th

Campaign Period:  From 7 AM on Monday 10th until 11 PM on Friday March 15th

Elections Period: From 11 PM on Wednesday March 13th until 11 PM on Friday March 15th

 

Timeline for Remaining Positions Election:

Nomination Period: From 11 AM on Wednesday March 20th until 11 PM on Sunday March 24th

Campaign Period: From 11 AM on Monday March 25th until 11 PM on Friday March 29th

Elections Period: From 11 PM on Wednesday March 27th until 11 PM on Friday March 29th

We are holding the first referendum to amend our new constitution to reflect how WESST will handle the UVic Engineering Students’ Society merging into one stream. WESST is still allowing us to send two streams to WEC as they recognizes that it is impossible to include everyone who wishes to compete in UVEC in one event due to Coops.
