Scheduled Motions

††††††† No motions raised.

Impromptu Motions

††††††† Banning Steamers Pub

††††††† Proposed by: Sundeep Rana††††††† Seconded by: Omar Ishkintana

††††††† Whereas:

††††††††††††††† -Steamerís pub is not a good venue for any engineering events.

††††††††††††††† -Steamerís pub has constantly undermined the ability of the ESS to throw excellent

pubcraws/events by banning intoxicated people from entering.

†††††††††††† †††-Our megaphone somehow went "missing" at Steamerís pub after an altercation

Between the bouncers and management of Steamerís and the ESSA executive.

††††††† BIRT:

††††††††††††††† -That the Engineering Student Society of Victoria will not promote, attend or

speak of any events with Steamerís pub.

††††††† BIFR:

††††††††††††††† That Sundeep Rana present the constitution with this particular amendment to the

Steamerís pub staff after ratification and amendment to the constitution.

††††††† Motion passed on a majority vote.

††††††† Renaming of Treasurer Position

††††††† Proposed by: Sundeep Rana††††††† Seconded by: Lisanne Prince

††††††† Whereas:

††††††††††††††† -The treasurer position is among the most important positions in the ESS.

††††††††††††††† -Failure in this position affects the effectiveness of the ESS to perform its

duties and services for the Engineering students.

††††††††††††††† -Accountability for the finances from the executive starts with the Treasurer and

his/her ability to maintain the budget and records.

††††††††††††††† -The Treasurer position is often underrated for its importance in the executive.

††††††† BIRT:

††††††††††††††† The Treasurer position be renamed to VP Finance, carrying with it the

responsibilities previously held by the Treasurer, in addition to increasing its

formal role in the Executive to second in importance behind the President.

††††††† Motion passed on a majority vote.

†††††††

††††††† Pub Crawl Safety

††††††† Proposed by: Tyson Owens††††††† Seconded by: Sundeep Rana

††††††† Whereas: The Engineering Students' Society strives to comply to safety procedures

and best engineering practices.

††††††† And Whereas: A certain unnamed executive cracked his head open during the last pub

crawl.

††††††† BIRT: Pub crawl participants who receive stitches to their head must wear a hard hat

on all subsequent pub crawls.
